Executive Board

The Executive Board consists of four positions: President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. This board presides over the entirety of the cabinet and oversees day-to-day operations of the organization. Our focus as a board is to ensure our cabinet can provide our general members with the best experience possible.

President

Hello Akbayan community,

My name is Keana Pineda, pronouns are she/her/hers. I am a 5th year Public Health major with a Psychology minor and I am currently serving as your 2023 to 2024 President for AkbayanSJSU!

In 2019, I first joined Internship to grow a closer with my culture and identity as a Pilipina-American. As I dove into the program and worked alongside my Rising Internship class, I discovered that our hxstories are what makes us today. I carry on my favorite quote: “No Hxstory, No Self,”” as I continue my journey to learn about what it means to empower myself and take pride in being Pilipina.

To continue my journey in Akbayan, I was a core member for KOREmusta Ka Na to host workshops that speaks on Manila Men and helped coordinated the 21st Annual Kapwa Concert Benefit Show “Mahal Ng Kultura in 2022.” From 2022 to 2023, I served as the Secretary for BARANGAY 46 and served as Logistics Manager for PCN 35: Hiraya Manawari to work alongside the years PCN Coordinator in overseeing all logistical aspects and maintaining the casts’ synergy.

Outside of Akbayan, I am currently interning for GoodHealth, Goodwill of Silicon Valley, to host and facilitate workshops based on business development for the fall semester. I also work part time at a ramen restaurant, love studying and drinking matcha lattes at coffee shops, and going to the gym!

Treasurer

Hey everyone!

“Hello! My name is Shanferd Robino, my pronouns are he/him/his, I am currently a 5th year Business Administration - Management major, and I’m honored to be serving as treasurer for the 2023-24 school term. Some thing I enjoy outside of Akbayan is chilling with my cat named Lolo, playing volleyball, and playing video games like Valorant. Shout outs to Dynasty fam and all of my honorary kuyates for being such important support systems for me. I hope to do the same for this community that has given back so much!”

Vice President

What’s good Everyone!

To introduce myself, my name’s Edys Francisco Argueta and my pronouns are he/him/his. I am a 5th year Environmental Studies major with a minor in Education and currently serving as SOL 47’s Vice President!

Some of my previous experiences within Akbayan include being the KAAMP Coordinator for Barangay 46 (shout out to all my KAAMP Mahika Adings, KuyAtes & Fams)! Though before Cabinet, I was picked up Spring 2020 by my Kuya in OP Line during KAAMP Village and soon became one of the founder for ICON Fam in 2022! Most recently, I was a 1/2 of the Programs Designers for PCN 35’s Sana Core.

Outside of Akbayan you can usually find me watching reality tv with my roommates or catch me creating whether that be graphic design, sketching, painting or pretending I’m an interior designer. If you would like to get to know me more or wanna chat it up, follow me on Instagram @edysxargueta. Maybe you’ll catch posting about my little life, Yerbs, and music!

I look forward to meeting all of you and as I like to say, it’s always sunny in AK!

Take care!

Secretary

Hey y’all!

My name is Marc Sanna, I go by he/him pronouns and I’m a 2nd year Aerospace Engineering. I am serving as your Secretary for the ’23-’24 academic year!

I am in Dynasty fam and I was picked up by my Kuya Eli in Fall ‘22 as part of KAAMP Mahika. I was a Masaya Intern last year and participated in PCN 35: Hiraya Manawari as part of a couple of the behind the scenes aspects!

A couple fun facts about me are that I collect lanyards and am a public transit nerd. After a year of commuting via public transportation to SJSU, I grew to love the system, which helped me get through last semester. If you have any questions about getting around or things about public transit, definitely ask! When it comes to lanyards, if I see a cool one, I’ll buy it, or if I go visit a certain place I’ll get one. I have almost 20 lanyards varying from SJSU lanyards to sports related ones. I try to switch them out every so often so you’ll almost always see me wearing one.

I can’t wait to get farther into the year with y’all. Follow me at @marc_santa22 on IG if you’d like!
