  • Academic Advising and Retention Center/The Advising Hub – Academic Advising &
    Retention Services provides advising for General Education, Undeclared Students,
    students requiring remediation, International Students and those on probation or
    disqualified.  Transition advising is provided by this office through Frosh and
    Transfer Orientations.
  • Accessible Education Center (AEC) – The Center works closely with faculty, staff,
    programs and departments to deliver services and promote access for students with
    disabilities in the classroom and throughout the campus.
  • Admission Services – Learn more about the necessary steps need to take in order to
    become an admitted Student at SJSU.
  • ASPIRE – The goal of ASPIRE is to increase retention and graduation rates of our
    participants. We do this by providing opportunities for academic development,
    assistance students with basic college requirements, and motivating students
    toward the successful completion of their postsecondary education.
  • Associated Students (AS) – Associated Students has been a student owned and
    operated non-profit organization for over 100 years. They are committed to
    providing services and activates that enhance the opportunity to meet, recreate and
    maximize student life. Opportunities to get involved and obtained leadership skills
    are among our highest priorities.
  • Biology Department – As leaders in the education of a highly trained and diverse
    scientific workforce, our mission is to provide a dynamic educational experience by
    engaging students in hands-on, inquiry-based learning activities at the bench and in
    the field. Through these experiences our students will gain a conceptual and
    experiential understanding of the biological sciences spanning from molecules to
    ecosystems
  • Bursar’s Office – Provide efficient courteous and exceptional customer service and
    financial counseling in the collection and disbursement of fund for our students,
    employees and external agencies.
  • Jack Holland Student Success Center (Business) – The Jack Holland Student Success
    Center is the central advisement office for all undergraduate and 2nd baccalaureate
    business majors. The Jack Holland Student Success Center provides information
    regarding academic planning (includes general education and major course
    requirements), college and university policies and procedures, advice for students
    on probation and those who have been academically disqualified from the
    university, and graduation.
  • Career Center – Promotes the development of SJSU students as professionals by
    providing the tools to guide you in making career-planning decisions along with
    developing and marketing your skills to employers.
  • Cesar E. Chavez Community Action Center – The Cesar E. Chavez Community Action Center connects SJSU students with community service opportunities that deepenthe educational experience while promoting the lifelong commitment to civic activism at the heart of the Cesar Chavez legacy.
  • College of Science Advising Center – Provides academic and peer advising to all
    College of Science majors, with particular focus on frosh who are in their first three
    semesters at SJSU and transfer students who are in their first year students at SJSU,
    in order to increase student success and graduation rates for College of Science
    majors.
  • College of Engineering Student Success Center – Assists undergraduate student
    move successfully from freshman to senior year, support and enhancing their
    learning and overall academic experience. ESSC is an inclusive environment that
    fosters collaboration, builds community and supports a smooth transition into
    college. The center provides outreach and recruitment activities; first-year
    experience programs for frosh and incoming transfer students; academic advising
    by professional and peer advisors; professional development and practice
    programs; along with guidance on developing future career and graduate school
    plans.
  • Counseling Services – “We’re friendly, caring, empathic, and understanding. We
    strive to help you grow! While no issue is too big or small, many tell us that they
    wish they had come to counseling sooner.”
  • Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) – EOP is designed to improve student
    academic support of first-generation, low-income and educationally disadvantaged
    students. The program provides admission, academic, and financial assistance to
    EOP-eligible undergraduate student considered California residents or AB540
    students.
  • Graduate Admission – Graduate Admissions and Program Evaluation (GAPE)
    handles procedures related to admission, and university level program
    requirements for graduate students.
  • Guardian Scholars (Formerly CME Society) – The SJSU Guardian Scholars Program
    (GSP), part of EOP, is committed to helping students exiting the foster care system,
    wards of the court, under legal guardianship or unaccompanied homeless youth.
  • Financial Aid & Scholarship Office – The Financial Aid and Scholarship Office
    provides quality education financing options, while delivering consistent, equitable,
    and timely services to student aid applicants at San Jose State University. In addition to federal and state funding, the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office connects students with campus scholarship opportunities and other off campus resources.
  • LGBT Resource Center – The mission of the LGBT Resources Center is to support the LGBTIQQA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, Questioning, Ally) students of San Jose State University. Through dynamic programming and
    educational outreach the Resource Center seeks to improve campus climate for
    LGBTIQQA students and advocate for the respect and safety of all members of the
    campus community. In collaboration with other campus programs the Resource
    Center works to meet the needs of students to promote the successful completion of the educational goals.
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Library (MLK) – SJSU’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Kr. Library
    supports the University’s guiding principles of Spartan Pride, Unbounded Learning,
    Helping and Caring, Agility through Technology, and 21st Century Spaces by
    facilitating student learning and success, faculty teaching, research and scholarship,
    community engagement and creative uses of technology. In partnership with the
    San Jose Public Library, we provide all library users with access to information and
    learning resource in digital and print formats and fosters life long opportunities for
    the entire community.
  • McNair Scholars Program – Through a grant competition, funds are awarded o
    institutions of higher education to prepare eligible participants for doctoral studies
    through involvement in research and other scholarly activities. Participants are
    from disadvantaged backgrounds and have demonstrated strong academic
    potential. Institutions work closely with participants to enroll in graduate programs
    and then track their progress through the successful completion of advanced
    degrees. The goal is to increase the attainment of Ph.D. degrees by students from
    underrepresented segments of society.
  • MOSAIC Cross-Cultural Center – Mosaic collaborates with student organizations,
    academic departments, staff, residence halls, and members of the surrounding
    community whose purpose is concurrent with MOSAIC’s mission, philosophies, and
    goals.
  • Office of the Registrar – Serving the SJSU community by maintaining the integrity of student records, upholding and enforcing regulations relating to policies and
    explaining those policies to students, alumni, faculty, and staff through accurate,
    efficient services, delivered with respect and care.
  • Office of Student Conduct and Ethical Development – Promotes fairness and
    consistency in the administration of the student conduct process while supporting a
    safe and inclusive living and learning environment. Student Conduct and Ethical
    Development commits to the principles of empathy, ethics, equity, integrity, and
    respect.
  • Ombudsman – Provides an impartial and confidential consultation to members of
    the campus who are concerned about a situation or issue.
  • Peer Connections – Offers free mentoring and tutoring services to undergraduate
    SJSU students. We encourage students to become independent learners who are
    engaged with their campus experience. Our mentors and tutors are SJSU students,
    just like you – they understand the challenges you may be facing and will assist you
    to the best of their abilities.
  • Student Health Center – Provides medical care to students enrolled at SJSU. In
    addition to treating acute conditions, injuries, and illnesses, the Health Center
    provides a family planning program and maintains an in-house licensed pharmacy, a
    physical therapy department, a federally certified high complexity, and an x-ray
    department.
  • Student Involvement – To engage students in learning and personal development by fostering connections within our diverse university community, promoting campus citizenship, and preparing student for current and future leadership roles.
  • Testing Office – The Testing Office staff provides testing related services in support
    of the educational development and success of students. By collaborating with the
    campus faculty and community, we offer proctoring and test administration
    services. The staff provides the highest level of service to students, faculty, staff and
    the community. The office ascribes to the National College Test Association (NCTA)
    Professional Standards and Guidelines.

  • Women’s Resource Center – Striving to empower students and educated the campus on a multitude of issues facing society based on gender.
  • Writing Success Center – Offers a variety of resources to help students become
    better writers, and all of our services are free for SJSU students.
