In Case You Missed It: Spring Ading Mixer and Evolution of the Filipino Flag Workshop

>> Feb 22 – Mar 3 <<

Hello everyone and happy March Madness! Spring is right around the corner…

A couple weeks ago, we held our spring ading mixer. This is specifically for the new adings who are getting picked up this spring to be able to meet each other as well as the family representatives. The whole concept behind ading mixer is for the new adings to get a taste of what the KAAMP program has to offer. People played good talk, bingo, and won some cool prizes! Later in the night, the adings were split into groups and went to each of the fam rep’s to learn about the values each family held.

This last Thursday, we held our second general workshop of the semester. The topic we covered was on the evolution of the Filipino Flag and how it has changed over the century. Everyone split into small groups and each group made a specific version of the flag. In total the national flag of the Philippines has been altered 9 times and it was awesome to see the groups recreate all 9 versions of them!

Here are some people putting in hard work!

After everyone finished making their flags, each group came up one by one and presented their flags. With the help of Adrian, our cultural chair, everyone learned about how each flag came to be!
