W’sup. This week was filled with tons of fun PCN workshops, the New Ading Mixer, and the first general workshop of the semester which was hosted by Anakbayan!
On Monday, there were two workshops: Choir and cultural. Both workshops had tons of people(50+) attend. People ranging from zero to wow-so-amazing experience for either singing or dancing went into both workshops and left the rooms with some skills and made them anticipate in what’s in store for them in the upcoming workshops for the week. Tuesday was the acting workshop. On this day, people were able to choose a monologue from all the monologues that were presented in front of them and were supposed to present or well act it out in front of everyone. Some felt some feels and some even cried. Overall, everyone had fun. On Wednesday, it was another cultural workshop but was taught by the Clarissa Balallo. oOooOo. Everyone had their cool socks on and slipped and slide across the floor but got down to business when they learned the danced which was from the Southern Islands suite. pretty cool yea. Thursday was the very first contemporary workshop oftheyear taught by Lorraine Bellin. Contemporary is a branch off of the Modern aspect and it’s the first time it has been done. woot. Lots of jumping and spinning and oohlala-ing. On Friday, the last two PCN workshops of the week were Band and Acting. Since it was a beautiful day outside, the band workshop was held outside at the CV quad. pretty chill. Acting workshop was the cold read of the script! If you weren’t there then darn. you missed out. But don’t worry! Just wait till PCN to find out the story :~D For photos from some of the workshops, check it out here!
The New Ading Mixer took place on Wednesday! Not only were the new adings of this semester were invited but adings from last semester also went. Free food was given out during breaks from ice breakers. The ice breakers or games played were pterodactyl, ninja, & rock, paper, scissors. Overall, all the adings were able to meet each other and had lotsa fun. Check out the Flick photo album here to see if you’re in it!
The first general workshop of the semester was hosted by Anakbayan of the Silicon Valley! They talked about their purpose in our community and pretty much their own experiences. The room was packed from wall to wall, head to shoulders, knees to toes, roll-y seats to roll-y seats. It was amazing to see so many of our members attend the very first general workshop of the semester. woo. kudos to y’all. SoooOo, if ya want to know more about Anakbayan, and missed out on this amazingly-filled workshop, check out their website here!
Other than all of this fun stuff going on all week, we had a Valentine’s Day Gram Fundraiser. Our super cool Treasurer, Mark, and some cab members made millions of rose bud kisses for our general members. pretty cool yea.
