Hello everyone! Akbayan wants to thank you for coming out and supporting our past events. Thus far we have had our Tri Force Picnic, Fall Open House, Bowling Night, Kickoff Picnic, and Friendship Games info night!
Akbayan will be having many big upcoming events for the following semester, so grab your agendas and note them down.
K.A.A.M.P/Intern Info Night(September 22, 2009)
Don’t know what to do on this upcoming furlough day? Well, KAAMP/Intern Info Night is the place to be! If you’re interested in either becoming an intern for our organization or even a Kuya/Ate/Ading for Akbayan’s very own “Kuya, Ate, Ading Mentoring Program,” you must attend this info night to know what these programs are all about and what is going to be planned for this year.

General Meeting (September 24, 2009)
Guess what? Our general meetings start this Thursday! Come and learn about what we plan to teach you about the Pilipino culture. Also, we will be discussing updates and important notes that you should all know.

Dinner Fundraiser (September 24, 2009)
Love wings? Well after Akbayan’s First General meeting come by SmokeEaters and enjoy some chicken and wings while supporting Akbayan. A flier must be present at the time of purchase so make sure to print one out or grab one at the Akbayan table!

Ma’BOO’hay Talent Showcase (October 1, 2009)
To kick of Pilipino History Month, which is October, Akbayan will be hosting its 9th Annual Ma’BOO’hay talent showcase featuring different Fil-Am artists from around the area. The show will be provided with a variety of different types of performances from singing, dancing, rapping, and comic acts. This year our line up consists of Meron 6, Rad Reyes, SJSU Breakers, Herb Diggs, AK, and AM Kidd. Headling for Ma’BOO’hay will be GLP (Gabe Bondoc, Leejay, Passion), Drop N Harmony, and AJ Rafael. Come out and enjoy a fun show that will blow your minds away!

Friendship Games Updates
FRIENDSHIP GAMES PRACTICES
Ready for game time? Games practices begin Monday, September 21, 2009. For those who are interested in playing games for friendship games, you must come out to these practices in order to be involved in it. Be prepared for a fun filled, but also intense practice! IMPORTANT NOTE: YOU MUST TURN IN A SIGNED WAIVER FORM AND REGISTRATION BEFORE PARTICIPATING IN THESE PRACTICES. NO FORMS, NO PRACTICE.
• Location: Meet on the fields in front of Tower Hall before 4:30PM. We will all be heading to the field located on Market Street.
• Time: 4:30PM-6:30PM
FRIENDSHIP GAMES ROLL CALL
Interested in doing roll call this year or just want to see what it’s actually all about? Practices will be begin this week on Wednesday, September 23, 2009. The AK coordinators (Randy Le, Alan Manosca, Roger Aquino, and Pam Cedeno) will be leading these practices. It is very important for those of you who want to be involved in this part of friendship games to attend since practices are only once a week.
• Location: Studio A located on the bottom floor in the event center (gym)
• Time: 8:00PM-10:00PM
FRIENDSHIP GAMES SPUF
We will be needing a lot of people to help out on this aspect! If you plan on coming to any SPUF days, please bring cardboard if you can. SPUFing will usually happen on the weekends starting on Friday. Interested in helping us out? Contact any of the officers, or specifically Jessica Altura, the social chair, or come by the Akbayan table if you have any further questions about where and when this will take place.
