Treasurer: Hidee Nakaishi Reyes

Hello!

My name is Hide (pronounced he-day) Nakaishi Reyes, but everyone knows me as Hidee (like Heidi) and I am Akbayan’s 2011-2012 Treasurer! I am currently a 2nd year student at San Jose State studying to for a degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Management. I was born and raised in the East Bay, specifically in Union City where I attended James Logan High School. I have 4 siblings and I’m half Filipino and half Japanese, which is pretty cool because you don’t find many of my type around very often. Therefore, Akbayan not only appealed to my filipino side, but the fact that the organization has many opportunities for its members.

Random facts:
My favorite color is green. Music is something I really appreciate, from classical to indie to hip hop and whatever it may be. Softball has changed my life, and I miss it… a lot (I’m down to play catch! Just hit me up!). My best friend and I have the same birthday. I’ll be easy to get along with if your sense of humor is relative to mines. “C’est la vie” and “Enjoy the little things” are my mottos in life. My dream is to become a successful female entrepreneur or a become a CFO of a big company.

I chose to be a part of Cabinet as the treasurer because you, the members, should have the same amazing opportunities and experiences I’ve had so far. Therefore, my job is to make sure that Akbayan’s funds are being accounted for in order to keep our programs and events running to keep the existence of this organization.

Don’t hesitate to try something new, especially with Akbayan. You never know who you’ll meet or what doors Akbayan can open for you.

If you want to get to know me more, go ahead and e-mail me any comments, questions, or concerns! Have a great day, and thanks for reading (:
