First off, your eyes deceive you, I’m not at all Filipina. I’m actually Thai and no, I don’t know how to cook Thai food, but I’ll refer you to some good places. I was born and raised in Union City and attended James Logan High School c/o 09. I’m also proud to say I was apart of the world famous Band and Color Guard program that participated in the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Orchestra. I’m currently a 3rd year here at San Jose State and majoring in Kinesiology to become a physical therapist in the future. So the question remains, “why did I join Akbayan if I’m not even Filipino?” Well truth is, this organization has so many opportunities that will will make your college experience something to remember. I’ve met and befriended so many new people, started dancing with Roll Call and PCN Modern, have a KAAMP Fam, participated in Friendship Games, and SO much more. I can’t wait to meet you this year.
