Hello everyone I am Jesse Barbon Last semester I was one of your Media and Publications Officers, This year I return as one of your Community Chairs.
I ran for this position because of my willingness to spread awareness to others and help them learn. I wanted media because of my passion for it. With Community I find that I have more than just a passion for it, but a place in my heart wanting to give back to the community. I have the determination, capabilities, and resources to not only learn on my own but lead others to do so as well.
What drives me to do this position is the amount of people that let current issues and problems in our communities go right over their heads. Gandhi stated, “You must be the change you wish to see in the world”. For me to help others I must first step up and be that change. I don’t want our organization to forget its relations with the community. With my co we will do this by keeping Akbayan active while educating our fellow members of society. My Co and I have many Ideas planned and are looking forward to a great year. We will keep these activities fun and hope others gain a place in their hearts for community.
